Airtel Uganda has unveiled the ‘Uganda Needs More of You Campaign’ to celebrate and recognize Ugandans using technology to transform the lives of others.
Mr Manoj Murali, the Airtel Uganda Managing Director, said the campaign will help them discover and celebrate those Ugandans making a difference in the country.
“It is in recognition of this need that today, Airtel Uganda, the Smartphone Network with the widest 4G coverage in Uganda, has launched #UGNeedsmoreofU, a campaign that seeks to showcase, celebrate and recognise these outstanding Ugandans,” he announced at the launch on Monday, March 7, 2022.
“Some of the inspiring stories are yet to be discovered, told and celebrated. I am confident that the UGNeedsMoreOfU campaign will help us discover and celebrate more of these Ugandan stories,” he announced.
Mr Henry Njoroge, Airtel Marketing Director, said the campaign is part of their contribution to the growth and development of Uganda.
“Every single person has a side hustle, Ugandans have embraced technology in a way that is unmatched. So, as a brand, our mission is to provide a platform to enable them to improve their lives,” he said
“There are many examples of ordinary Ugandans who have used our platform and harnessed the power of technology for greater good. But today we share three stories. Stories of our guests of honor and our heroes,” he added.
The campaign will be broadcast on select media houses. On a monthly basis, the stories submitted will be vetted and the top 3 will be selected to proceed to the next stage. The final transformative stories will receive support for their causes.
To participate, people are urged to share stories of how they have utilized technology to positively impact the lives of others.
The submissions will be done through either; the Airtel Mobiste http://airtel.co.ug/UgneedsmoreofU, by SMS (162) or by calling 162.
The submitted stories shall then be judged by a panel of judges and voted on by the public using the Airtel Mobsite or SMS.
