With over 30 years of extensive experience across Uganda’s financial sector, Dr. Kasi has crafted a career defined by strategic growth, ethical banking, and corporate governance, elevating Centenary Bank to a leading position in Uganda’s financial services industry. Under his leadership, Centenary Bank was recently awarded “Best Bank in Uganda” at the 2024 Global Finance World’s Best Awards in Washington, D.C.—a testament to its exceptional performance, profitability, and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Dr. Kasi’s qualifications highlight his expertise and dedication to the banking sector. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from Makerere University, is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and is a member of Uganda’s Institute of Certified Public Accountants. With an MBA from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and advanced management training from Strathmore University, he possesses a solid foundation in finance, corporate governance, and strategic management. This skill set has empowered him to drive Centenary Bank’s mission of reaching Uganda’s underserved communities by developing tailored financial products and services.

A true proponent of values-based banking, Dr. Kasi’s leadership prioritizes not only profitability but also meaningful societal impact. His role on the Boards of institutions like the Capital Markets Authority, Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) Uganda, and the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) underscores his dedication to strengthening Uganda’s financial landscape. His governance contributions also extend to commercial enterprises like Buganda Broadcasting Service, PAX Insurance, and British American Tobacco (BAT) Uganda.

Dr. Kasi’s achievements were recently celebrated by Brand Africa 100, which recognized Centenary Bank as the “Most Admired Financial Services Brand in Uganda” and the “Most Admired Brand for Doing Good for Society.” These accolades reflect his steadfast commitment to ethical banking, customer-centricity, and social responsibility. Through initiatives such as agricultural financing for smallholder farmers, financial literacy programs for refugees, and women empowerment efforts, Centenary Bank has become a catalyst for positive change across Uganda.

Beyond banking, Dr. Kasi’s influence is evident. Recently, he participated in the launch of Without The Leader, There Is No Customer Experience by Dr. Dorothy Kyeyune, a timely reflection on the role of leadership in fostering exemplary customer service.
