“We are not just a telco. We are now a full technology partner, shaping solutions that power institutions, connect systems, and unlock potential across every sector,” Senyonga said.
“By facilitating platforms such as this Round Table, we reaffirm our long-term commitment to enabling Uganda’s digital future through strategic collaboration, technological innovation, and inclusive progress,” he added.

Accelerating Digital Transformation

The round table focused on accelerating the implementation of the National Digital Transformation Roadmap (2023/2024 to 2027/2028), with MTN Uganda’s CEO, Sylvia Mulinge, highlighting the company’s commitment to supporting the government’s digital agenda.

Mulinge stressed the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in driving digital and financial transformation.

“We’re working on how to support financial inclusion. We want to make it easier to collect payments and just as easy to track how that money flows, so everything becomes more efficient and more transparent,” Mulinge said.

Public-Private Collaboration

Richard Yego, the MTN MoMo CEO, emphasised that public-private collaboration is essential in driving digital transformation.

He highlighted the company’s ongoing work with government ministries and agencies to co-create digital solutions, including digitised school fees, smart agriculture payments, and integrated e-government services.

“Public-Private collaboration isn’t optional, it’s essential. We are co-creating digital solutions with ministries and agencies. The work is already underway, from digitised school fees to smart agriculture payments and integrated e-government services,” Yego noted.

Long-Term Commitment

Senyonga reaffirmed MTN Uganda’s long-term commitment to enabling Uganda’s digital future through strategic collaboration, technological innovation, and inclusive progress. He pointed out that the company’s participation in the round table demonstrates its dedication to driving digital transformation and supporting the government’s development agenda.
