
The list of schools that qualified to participate in the 10th Anniversary of the Stanbic Bank National Schools Championship has finally been released.
The participating schools were announced on Monday during the official unveiling of the Stanbic Bank National Schools Championship 2025, during a function that was held in Kampala.
Themed ‘The Battle of the Champions’, the Championship will bring together 200 Secondary and Vocational schools that are advancing to the next phase, which includes training of trainers, a boot camp, and appraisal sessions.
Some of the participating schools include; St. James SS Buddo, St. Joseph’s High School Namagunga, St. Mary’s College Kisubi, St. Noa Mwaggali SSS Njeru, St. Peters SS Nansana, The Amazima School, TopTimes High School Kyengera, Trinity College Nabbingo, Uganda Martyrs SS Namugongo, Victory High School, Aga Khan High School, Bishop Cypriano Kihangire SS, Crane High School, Entebbe, St. Aloysious Girls SS, Bwanda, Eeman High School, Entebbe Secondary School, Gayaza High School, Glory of Christ Secondary School, Gombe Secondary, Good Choice Secondary School, Hope Senior School, Bbira, Isaac Newton High School, Masaka, Divine Aesthetics Vocational and Business Institute, among others.
The Stanbic Bank National School Championship (NSC) brings together participants from select schools who showcase innovative ideas in business, science and technology, agriculture and other sectors of the economy.
Last year, students from St. Joseph’s High School, Namagunga, were the overall winners and walked away with a brand-new solar system valued at Shs 25 million for their school, Shs 1.5 million for their teacher/patron, and brand-new laptops for each team member.
The competition featured prizes worth Shs 100 million which will be taken home by this year’s winners.
Specifically, this year’s championship will feature the following benefits besides the prizes;
Teacher Upskilling: All selected schools will be invited to participate in a 2-day training of teachers’ workshop. Teachers will get innovation and entrepreneurship skills to implement at their school.
Practical Entrepreneurship Education: The Bank will provide participants with toolkits to foster innovation and entrepreneurship at your school!
Business Bootcamp: The best students and a teacher will participate in a 5-day residential business bootcamp.
