In a bid to improve the quality of maternal health services, Financial Brand Stanbic Bank together with the wider community members yesterday donated sh24m mama kits hospital to Kawempe Hospital.
The materials were received by the Health Ministry Permanent Secretary Dr. Diana Atwine.
Commenting on the donation, Atwine said that maternal deaths create an urgent need for various stakeholders to collaborate and find quick solutions to ensure that all pregnant mothers have access to quality and affordable healthcare services.
She applauded Stanbic Bank for the donation.
“I thank Stanbic Bank for the kind contribution. We are sure that this contribution will provide clean and safe delivery to our mothers at Kawempe Referral Hospital especially at this critical time when the country is battling the pandemic,” said Atwine.
Relatedly, Stanbic Bank yesterday donated items (Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Oxygen Cylinders, and regulators) towards the fight against COVID-19. The Personal Protective Equipment will be distributed to Mulago and Entebbe Hospitals.
According to the official statement shared on the bank’s social media platforms, part of the donation will go towards 98 oxygen cylinders, which would later be distributed to hospitals in dire need, including Mbale (20), Soroti (20), Kabale (40), and Fort Portal (18).
“Also, a total of 40 oxygen regulators have also been donated and are to be distributed to Mbale Hospital (09), Soroti (08), Kabale (17), and Fort Portal (06),” read part of the statement.
