
Proscovia Nabbanja, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), has been recognised for her outstanding leadership and contributions to the energy sector.
She has been awarded the African Woman in Energy Trailblazer Award at the inaugural Africa Technology Conference by SPE Africa Region, held in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.
According to Olivier Houzé, the President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, this year’s theme of the conference is ‘Navigating the Future: Building Technological Excellence for Sustainable Energy in Africa’.
“It is spot on, as it underscores SPE’s commitment to promoting cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions that are required to drive Africa’s energy future,” Olivier noted, adding, “This aligns with SPE’s general mission to connect a global network of energy professionals in advancing technical expertise and innovation.
