With a PhD in Ecomonics from Makerere University, a Masters of Sceince in Petroleum, Energy amd Economics from the University of Aberdeen and a Bachelors degree in Statistics from Makerere University, Banaga-Baingi previously served at the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) as a Data Control Officer under the Kampala Revenue Improvement Project, before he joined the Ministry of Energy as an Assistant Commissioner.

Dr. Banaga-Baingi, who is an accomplished resource economist, brings over 24 years of experience in the energy sector, having served as the Assistant Commissioner for Technical Planning at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development. His expertise in energy policy, planning, and development will be invaluable in steering the UNMC towards achieving its goals.
