MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) Uganda, under the leadership of Mr. Richard Yego as Managing Director, has officially launched the 2026 edition of its ‘Win School Fees for a Year and More’ campaign.
Now in its third consecutive year, the initiative is designed to make education more accessible, affordable, and stress-free for families across the country.
As education costs continue to place a heavy burden on Ugandan households, MTN MoMo is stepping in with enhanced rewards and financial tools to ensure that children stay in the classroom.
Speaking at the launch of the campaign, Yego emphasised that education is a powerful enabler of progress.
“Through this campaign, we are going beyond convenience to deliver meaningful support that can change the course of a family’s future,” Yego stated.
Relief For Parents And Guardians
The core of the campaign offers parents the chance to have their children’s school fees fully covered for an entire year.
How to Enter: Parents and guardians participate by paying school fees digitally via MoMo.
The Process: Simply dial 16580# and complete the payment through the MoMo platform.
The Impact: By covering a full year of tuition, MTN MoMo is providing long-term financial security for the winners, allowing families to reallocate their resources toward other essential needs.
From Cash To Cashless School Fees Pay
The campaign recognises that schools are critical partners in the digital transition. Beyond just acting as collection points, schools that register to collect fees through MoMo stand to gain operational efficiencies.
This is because digital payments allow bursars to benefit from faster reconciliation and more accurate record-keeping.
On the other hand, moving to a cashless system reduces the risks associated with handling large volumes of physical cash on school premises.
As a way of empowerment, registered schools that collect fees via MoMo are eligible to win a school van to support their daily operations and service delivery.
Momo School Fees Loans to Ensure Continuity
Recognising that many families face seasonal cash flow challenges, MTN MoMo is also highlighting its MoMo School Fees Loans.
These loans allow parents to settle fees on time even when funds are tight, ensuring that students are not sent home or disrupted during the term.
Applying for a loan through the MoMo platform automatically enters the parent into the “Win school fees” draw, doubling the benefit of the service.
Jemima Kariuki, Chief Product Officer, added that the goal is to make a major financial commitment, like school fees, simpler and more rewarding.
“MoMo is designed to deliver real value that fits into the everyday realities of our customers’ lives,” she noted.
She reiterated that the 2026 campaign aligns with MTN’s broader ‘Power to Be More’ platform, which seeks to remove the daily barriers that prevent Ugandans from achieving their full potential.
By combining digital convenience, credit facilities, and life-changing rewards, MTN MoMo is securing the academic future of the next generation.
