What is SASE?
According to Nicholas Mpanga, MTN Uganda’s Senior Consultant-Managed Network Solutions (MNS), SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) is a transformative network and security framework that Enterprises can leverage to modernize connectivity, enhance security, and streamline operations. It integrates networking (SD-WAN) and security (Zero Trust, Cloud Security, Secure Web Gateway, and Firewall-as-a-Service) into a unified, cloud-delivered solution.
For financial institutions, where data security, regulatory compliance, and seamless customer experiences are critical, SASE provides a scalable, resilient, and cost-effective approach to network security.
SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network), that is part of the SASE Proposition, is an intelligent software solution that enables businesses to optimize connectivity across multiple offices, branches, and remote workers. It delivers faster, more reliable, and secure connections, while also reducing operational costs. MTN Uganda’s SASE and SDWAN offerings are powered by globally trusted vendors such as Huawei, Cisco, and Fortinet to ensure high-quality performance and adaptability for enterprises of all sizes.
