NCBA Golf Series 2025 Kicks Off in Uganda, Roots for Environmental Sustainability

The NCBA Golf Series 2025 officially teed off in Uganda this week, marking the beginning of an exciting journey to discover new talent, foster community growth, and promote regional connections.

This year’s tournament series promises to be bigger and better, with top golfers competing at Uganda’s most scenic golf courses.

“The impressive victories of Peter Tumusiime, who clinched the Gross title, and Peace Kabasweka, who triumphed in the Ladies’ Longest Drive category in the 2024 grand finale, continue to inspire us and the next generation of Ugandan Golfers,” Mark Muyobo, the NCBA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), said during the teeing event.

“To all the players preparing to compete, bring your A game. To our valued partners, Crown Beverages Limited, Uganda Breweries Limited, and Motorcare Uganda Limited, we thank you for your trust, partnership, and continued collaboration,” he added.

Empowering Young Talent and Communities

By investing in junior golfers and promoting the sport, NCBA aims to create opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds to thrive in golf.

Environmental Sustainability

As part of its sustainability efforts, NCBA has pledged to plant trees on every course played during the tournament series.

This initiative underscores the bank’s commitment to environmental conservation and reducing its carbon footprint.

In his remarks about this year’s golf series, Muyobo emphasised the importance of leaving golf courses better than they were found, highlighting the bank’s dedication to sustainability.

Mary Louise Simkins Memorial Golf Club in Namulonge

Muyobo revealed that the top performers in each tournament will qualify for the grand finale in Nairobi, Kenya, where they will go to showcase the best of East African golf talent.
