Sudhir Ruparelia buys Lotis Towers

Business mogul, Sudhir Ruparelia and his wife, Jyotsna, have added the Lotis Towers to their humongous property portfolio. Lotis Towers, an upscale building, is situated on Plot 16 Mackinnon Road in the leafy Nakasero suburb.

According to a notice from Jubilee Associates addressed to the tenants, the tycoon bought the property from DFCU Bank which had put it on sale after its previous owner Samuel Lotigo failed to service a loan from the bank.

We were unable to confirm how much Sudhir paid for the building.

It is an interesting turn of events given that Sudhir and DFCU have had a fractious relationship over the latter’s takeover of Crane Bank in 2017.

According to the notice dated May 3, the tenants are supposed to regularize their dealings with the new landlord.

“Accordingly make sure you submit all your current signed tenancy agreement with proof of payment made up to date in order to regularize the tenancy agreement with the new landlords,” reads the notice

Sudhir owns more than 200 properties within the city centre and its suburbs. He also has extensive investments in the hospitality and education sectors and owns the biggest flower exporting firm in Uganda.
