SLB, a leading global technology company in energy, announced on Wednesday the opening of its Africa Performance Center in Luanda, Angola. This state-of-the-art facility, spanning 3,200 sqft, will serve as a collaborative hub for industry stakeholders, fostering innovation and development in the oil and gas, new energy, and digital sectors across Africa.
The center will leverage SLB’s global network of interconnected innovation centers to provide access to cutting-edge technologies and solutions, including AI and digital workflows.
“Collaboration is key to delivering efficient and sustainable solutions,” said Miguel Baptista, Managing Director for SLB in Angola, Central and East Africa. “This center will enable us to work closely with our customers, drawing on our global expertise to deliver localized solutions that enhance performance and drive production.”
The initiative aligns with Angola’s ambition to maintain oil production above 1.0 million barrels per day until 2030.
“This center will be a catalyst for digital transformation and sustainable development in our country,” emphasized Alice de Fátima Pinto de Ceita e Almeida, Secretary of State for Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation. “By leveraging science, technology, and innovation, we can drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for our citizens.”
The Performance Center will also play a crucial role in capacity building and skills enhancement, empowering local talent across various digital and technological fields.
