
Equity Bank has been named the “Most Admired Financial Services Brand in Kenya” at the Kenyan edition of the Brand Africa Awards 2025.
This prestigious accolade, coming shortly after being recognised as Kenya’s Most Valuable Brand by Brand Finance, serves as a powerful testament to Equity Bank’s extensive impact and unwavering commitment across the African continent.
The award was presented to Dr. James Mwangi, Group Managing Director and CEO of Equity Bank, by Thebe Ikalafeng, founder and Chairman of Brand Africa.
Reflecting on the recognition, Dr. Mwangi stated, “These recognitions speak volumes; they represent the deep trust, connection, and relevance we hold in the lives of millions.”

The Brand Africa 2025 Awards mark the 15th anniversary of this influential initiative. The awards officially commenced in May of this year in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and have since hosted editions in various African countries, recognising and celebrating excelling brands across the continent.

Uganda Edition Slated for August
The Brand Africa Awards 2025 will continue its continental tour with the Ugandan edition slated to take place on August 15th, 2025, in Kampala.
