Juliana Kagwa Takes Helm at Uganda Tourism Board: A New Era for Tourism Development

The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Juliana Kagwa, who was appointed today to lead the organisation that’s key at promoting Uganda’s tourism sector.

Her appointment was confirmed by the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, which posted on X (formerly Twitter), thus;

“Confirmed; Ms. Juliana Kagwa appointed new  @TourismBoardUg CEO! Congratulations, and we warmly welcome you to the tourism fraternity. @TourismBoardUg CEO! Congratulations, and we warmly welcome you to the tourism fraternity.”

Kagwa takes over the helm from Lilly Ajarova, the outgoing UTB CEO whose tenure ended early this year and she didn’t express interest in pursuing a reappointment.

This appointment marks a significant milestone for the UTB, as Kagwa brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role.

A Seasoned Professional

Kagwa’s appointment as CEO of the UTB is a testament to her capabilities and experience in the tourism industry.

Formerly working with Uganda Breweries Limited as the Marketing Director and Country Manager for Heineken Beer in Uganda, Kagwa, who is currently the Group Marketing and Sales Director at Seed Co International, brings to UTB immense expertise, especially in the field of marketing and brand development.

Given her experience and expertise in marketing, Kagwa is well-positioned to drive UTB’s mission to promote Uganda’s tourism industry and showcase the country’s rich cultural and natural heritage.
