MTN Uganda Partners with Vision Zero Africa to Champion Workplace Safety and Well-being

Telecom giant MTN Uganda is taking a leading role in promoting workplace safety, health, and well-being, announcing its support for the upcoming International Vision Zero Africa Conference.

In a significant meeting at MTN Uganda’s headquarters, the company’s CEO, Sylvia Mulinge, hosted Allen Kagina, the distinguished Ambassador for the conference.

The discussion focused on how MTN can use its extensive influence, technological platforms, and strategic partnerships to advance the Vision Zero mission.

The Vision Zero strategy is a global campaign that aims to prevent all workplace accidents and diseases.

It’s based on the belief that every accident is preventable and that every worker has the right to a safe and healthy environment.

According to Mulinge, by partnering with this initiative, MTN Uganda is “aligning itself with international best practices and demonstrating its commitment to building a safer, more productive working environment for its employees, partners, and the wider community.”

Commitment to People and Shared Value

For MTN, supporting Vision Zero is a natural extension of its business philosophy of creating shared value.

As a company deeply rooted in Uganda, MTN recognises that its success is directly linked to the health and safety of the people it serves.

The collaboration will leverage MTN’s powerful platforms to raise awareness, share best practices, and provide digital tools that can help organisations of all sizes better manage workplace safety. This includes leveraging MTN’s mobile and digital solutions to facilitate training, reporting, and real-time communication on safety protocols.

This partnership is a powerful statement about the importance of putting people first. By championing workplace safety, MTN is not only protecting its own workforce but also inspiring other businesses across Africa to adopt similar standards.

The company looks forward to collaborating at the conference and beyond, working with governments, businesses, and communities to make safety and well-being a core standard in every workplace.

This is a critical step towards building a more resilient and productive economy for all Ugandans.
